UNC Bell Tower Development

Chapel Hill, North Carolina

This exciting, new UNC Chapel Hill project situates the Genome Science Building on the Bell Tower Campus near Kenan Stadium.

The 6-level, 232,000 SF facility will be LEED certified and includes a greenroof and a mix of native North Carolina and site adapted plant materials.

The eight-acre campus site incorporates a large green open space (formerly parking lots and a service drive).

A unique feature is the exposition of stormwater via an above grade runnel which extends along a major pedestrian walkway connecting the new science building to the stadium.

ColeJenest & Stone is the landscape architect of record for the project.
