Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Headquarters and Library

Charlotte, North Carolina

In 2005 the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association relocated their corporate headquarters from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Charlotte, North Carolina.  The 63-acre site is located west of downtown on Billy Graham Parkway.  The project is being developed in two simultaneous phases and includes complete perimeter security including electronic surveillance and 24-hour security at the primary and secondary vehicular entrances.

Phase I was the construction of a four-story, 202,000 SF, class "A" corporate office facility.  Included in the scope were improvements to the proposed new access at the Billy Graham Parkway/Westmont Drive Intersections and off-site roadway improvements to both the corporate office and museum/library.  A maintenance facility, two (2) guard houses and a nature/exercise trail were also built on the property.

Phase II included a two-story, 75,000 SF per floor museum/library building shell.  The facility was designed to attract visitors from all over the United States and includes a bookstore, snack bar, exhibit/display area, interactive display area, archive storage and general storage.

Multiple surface parking lots are situated on the site in such a way as to maintain the natural characteristics of the property as much as possible. Parking is available for the 375 full time employees and many visitors expected to visit the corporate headquarters.  The museum/library parking area accommodates approximately 250 spaces and bus parking.
